Far East Organization Children’s Garden – Free Water Playground, Gardens By The Bay In Singapore

The Far East Organization Children’s Garden water play is one of those places where you think “I can’t believe this is free!” This is one of the most picturesque free water play areas in Singapore.

What is at Far East Organization Children’s Garden Water Play?

The Far East Organization Children’s Garden Water Play area is divided into two main sections: toddler water play and water play for older kids.

The Toddler Water Play Section (1 to 5 years old)

In the Toddler Water Play Section you will find some small fish statues that spout very gentle water streams on a soft padded floor. Be sure to bring some water toys for the kids as they will love collecting and pouring out the water. It is a very tame area and great for smaller kids and those that are not quite ready for the big fountains in the older kids section.

The Older Kid Water Play Section (6 to 12 years old)

In the Older Kid Water Play Section you will find many (too many to count) water sprinklers which are motion activated. In addition to the water sprinklers there are flower water buckets which dump water over the heads of delighted (or sometimes unexpecting) children. This area is pretty full on, we recommend accompanying adults should also wear swimwear or at least have a change of clothes as you will get drenched in this section. If your child doesn’t like water in their face, this section probably isn’t for them. Note our 2 year old runs in this section, so younger kids can enter, it just depends how comfortable they and you are!

If your kids have had enough of the water but still want to play, there are two dry play areas. One is best suited for toddlers and is right next to the Cafe and is quite shaded. The other is meant for older kids and you can find it behind the amphitheatre and waterplay area. Some of it is under maintenance at the moment until end of March 2023.

Facilities:

There are toilet, shower and changing facilities, as well as an on-site Cafe Petit Coco @ Children’s Garden Cafe, if the kids get hungry. The water play areas are not in shade, but the amphitheatre that over looks the older kids water play is covered and has some parking for prams.

Tip:

Apart from the onsite Petit Coco Cafe, you can walk about 5 minutes outside of the water park to Satay By The Bay (which is a fancy looking hawker centre) to pick up a blended juice or some reasonably priced and delicious food.

What we love:

We love a) that it is free b) that there are also dry play areas here and c) the picturesque views of Marina Bay Sands and the Cloud Forest buildings in the background.

Location:

Far East Organization Children’s Garden, Gardens By The Bay, 18 Marina Gardens Dr, Singapore 018953. Nearest MRT Thomson East Coast Line (Brown Line), Gardens By The Bay, exit 1.

Cost:

Free!

Best Suited for:

Best for ages 0 to 12. The Far East Organization Children’s Garden has something for everyone. Note, you can only enter the area if you are accompanying a child 12 and under. We think the toddler splash area is best for those under 2 and the main water play area is good for those children 2 and over.

Opening Hours:

Open Thursday to Sunday from 9am to 7pm. Water play closes at 6:30pm with last entry at 6pm.

The water and dry playgrounds are closed every Monday to Wednesday unless it is a public holiday. During school holidays it is open every day except for Mondays.
