Northpoint City – Free Water Playground In Singapore

If your kids love water slides, then they are going to love the FREE water park at Northpoint called The Playground. It is the perfect place to cool off from the sun, and also get a bit of shopping done at Northpoint City mall afterwards.

What is at Northpoint City water park?

The Playground at Northpoint City is located on level 4 of the North Wing of the mall (rooftop level). There are three sections to the playground.

1. The water slide section

Here you will find 3 waterslides: red, yellow, and blue, in increasing length. All of the slides can be accessed via two different sets of stairs, which can get quite slippery during the water dump from the overhead red pin wheel. Be warned, the water dump occurs over the whole water slide section every few minutes.

Besides the slides, there are also a couple of water fountains in this section that the kids can play in, as well as enjoying the overhead water dump.

Note, none of the slides are particularly fast, nor is the water that deep (around calf deep), but you still want to keep a close eye on your kids especially on the blue covered slide as kids seem to enjoy climbing up it.

2. The toddler water play section

The toddler water play section is great for those who are a bit intimidated by the slides, but still want some water play. There are a couple of tame fountains to run through, as well as some troughs where the kids can learn about how water flows. What’s also great about this area is it is covered for shaded play.

3. The dry toddler play section

There’s not much to this area and be warned, the ground gets very hot here (especially for the kids who run from the wet play area to this area – they aren’t wearing any shoes). There are a couple of animals here and a treehouse with a tunnel and what could be a mini bumpy slide (at least that’s what our daughter used it for). It’s an area for the kids to run around and sit on the animals or play hide and seek.

Facilities:

There are toilets and open shower facilities, but there’s nowhere to get changed in private other than the disabled toilet.

The great thing about being on top of a mall is that if you are after a meal, there are plenty of options on the other levels of the mall to suit all budgets.

Tip:

Before letting your kids go wild on the slides, let them watch the big water dump first, so they know what to expect. It can be quite intimidating to the little ones who don’t love water in their face, and it can even scare water lovers who aren’t expecting it. Our daughter did not like the water dump at all, so we had to time her going down the waterslides in between the water dumps.

What we love:

We love the variety of slides and the fact that it is FREE!

Location:

The Playground, Northpoint City, 930 Yishun Ave 2, Singapore 769098. It is on level 4 in the North Wing and can be accessed by both lift or escalators. Nearest MRT is North South Line (Red line), Yishan, exit E. The place is quite large so it can be a bit confusing to find. If you enter on level 1 follow the escalators from McDonalds/Mos Burger up to level 4.

Cost:

Free!

Best suited for:

The toddler dry and wet water play sections are best suited for kids 0 to 3, while the main waterslide section is best suited for kids 2 to 6. While The Playground is suitable for kids up to 12, older kids may be a bit bored as the slides are not very fast.

Opening Hours:

Open daily 10:30am to 9pm, except for the first Monday of the month as it is closed for maintenance. It will also close during rain.
